What is known?

There are many parks and fields to explore in Austin, but how we first perceive it depends on the experience and what you have been exposed to.

Roy G Guerrero Park is a vast amount of land that is located in the heart of south  riverside. This park has many visitors that interact with the many different field, trails and rivers that run all across it. The goal for this project was to find the issues around Roy G Guerrero park in both the physical. This includes user experience, accessibility, and finding different ways to improve the way Roy G Guerrero park expands its presence through its brand.

Make it stand out

To broaden our experience as a designer we had to understand the development that comes with branding and its process. As I conducted my research I took many trips around the park and is trails and found many different attractions to the park that were not highlighted or mentioned. There were many hidden gems about the park that is not highlighted about the park. I have also experienced some issues as i found myself wondering off of the trails that go throughout the park. I conducted multiple interviews to understand how people interact with the park and interviewees have stated that although they do appreciate the trails and its big open space, there is lack of signs and can get confusing and don't know their current location within the park.

Down below are where I lost my trail and the two location map placing you in one place in the park.

Rough Draft

Two Quick First Renditions (before any research)

Mood Boards

After capturing images from around the park I created mood boards that represents the parks atmosphere and what I bring to it. The first is the logo and the second is the signs.

Final Renderings.

Online Foot Print

Just as any park has its issues what I found the most interesting is that the park had no self identity. The parks only official website was one created by the Austin Parks Foundation.

Layout

I decided to stick to the mood board colors of the signs to add that common connection and created a layout that will direct you to exactly where you wanted to go.

Final Website

I decided to create a mobile website because it is the most ideal way of using the website while exploring the park.
